Camping at a Logging Concession in Guyana

From Bartica, where we stayed with a family and ate from a lotus leaf (read about it here), we drove deep into Guyana’s countryside and rainforest. One afternoon when we ended up staying at a logging concession. We camped next to the ruins of an old sawmill. “The largest of the Caribbean at the time,” the guard tells us and before we know it he is showing us around.
